FOUNDING MEMBERS ARE OPEN ⋅ 40 SPOTS ⋅ DOORS OPEN WEDNESDAY 14 OCTOBER

YOUR FIRST VISIT

Nothing about this

should feel intimidating.

Here is exactly what happens, so the only thing left to decide is when to come.

BEFORE YOU COME

What to bring,

what to wear.

Grip socks

Required on the reformer, for your safety and the equipment’s. If you do not own a pair, we have them at the studio.

Something you can move in

Fitted is easier than loose, because your instructor needs to see how you are moving. Leggings and a top you are comfortable in is all it takes.

A water bottle

That is genuinely it. Mats, props, springs and everything else lives here.

Ten minutes

Arrive about ten minutes early for your first session, so there is time for the intake form and a look around before you start.
FINDING US

Where to park,

and which door.

The studio is inside a renovated salon suite building on the Murray and Cottonwood Heights border.
Address: 4770 S 900 E, Murray City, Utah 84117

Located in the Ivy Shopping Center. Enter to the left to Vara Salon Studios. Park in the designated parking spots. Priorizame Pilates is located on the second floor in suite 202.

Lost on the day? Call the studio on 801-930-0591.
SESSION ONE

What actually

happens.

01

We talk first

Before you touch a reformer, your instructor asks what brought you in, what your body has been through, and what you want out of this. Injuries, surgeries, pregnancies, the shoulder that has never been right. All of it is useful.
02

You meet the machine

The reformer looks like more than it is. You will learn what the springs do, why they can make an exercise easier rather than harder, and how to get on and off without thinking about it.
03

You move, slowly

The first session is about form, not fatigue. Fewer exercises, more cueing, plenty of stopping to adjust. You should leave knowing what your own body was doing, not just that it was hard.
04

We plan what comes next

At the end you get a straight answer about what would actually help: how often, which format, and whether privates, duets or group classes suit where you are right now.
ONE THING TO SETTLE

You do not need to be

flexible, fit, or twenty-five.

Nobody arrives at a Pilates studio already good at Pilates. If you cannot touch your toes, have not exercised in years, are carrying an injury, are pregnant, or are six weeks postpartum and exhausted, you are not behind. You are exactly who the scaling exists for.

Come as you are. That is the whole point.

QUESTIONS

Before you book.

I have never done Pilates. Should I start with a private or a class?
A private. One session of one-on-one cueing teaches you more than a month of following along at the back of a class, and it means your instructor can see how you move before you are in a group.

Generally yes, with adjustments, and it is one of the better things you can do through a pregnancy. Tell us what trimester you are in and anything your provider has said. If they have restricted something, we work around it rather than testing it.

Once your provider has cleared you, usually around six weeks, though a caesarean or a complicated birth can mean longer. Bring whatever they told you. We start further back than most people expect and build from there.
A duet is the same session with one other person on the second reformer, at a lower per-person rate. You still get hands-on cueing. It works best when the two of you are at a roughly similar point.

No. You can book a drop-in or buy a class pack. Memberships are for people training regularly, and the founding rate is open until we reach forty members.
Cancel in Vagaro at least 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours the session is used, because that slot was held for you and it is too late to offer it to someone else.

Yes. Call 801-930-0591 and we will find a time. [TBC: walk-in hours]
